Noshin Ulfat
I'm a — PhD Student
About
Hi, I'm Noshin Ulfat, a Computer Science PhD student at the University of Texas at Dallas,
where I serve as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and research in the AS²ERT Lab (AI for Safe Software Engineering and Testing).
My work lies in software engineering and software testing, with a particular focus on how large language models can help teams build
more dependable software. I'm motivated by a simple conviction: software can appear correct and still fail where it matters most,
and disciplined testing is what closes that gap.
Prior to my PhD, I spent nearly three years as a software development engineer at IQVIA,
building production web applications with Angular and TypeScript — experience that keeps my research grounded in the realities
of professional software teams. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from the Bangladesh University of
Engineering and Technology (BUET), and I have collaborated on research with the
University of Notre Dame. I also maintain a strong interest in natural language processing and the responsible use of AI.
Beyond my work, I'm an avid reader and enjoy writing short stories. I also draw in my free time; you're welcome to explore some of my
artwork on the Arts page.

Research
My research lies at the intersection of software engineering, software testing, and large language models. As a PhD student in the AS²ERT Lab (AI for Safe Software Engineering and Testing) at the University of Texas at Dallas, I work on making AI-assisted software development more reliable, secure, and trustworthy. I’m especially interested in building ethical, fair, and transparent AI systems. Check out my publications for more details.
